Got milk - No :)

Decided to give up milk today, I only drink it in my one cup a tea a day but decided I could probably do without.

Tuesday 21 January 2014

Oh dear oh dear, how far I fell on Friday night! Such a great positive week, feeling so healthy then uh oh forgot one of my golden rules - NO TAKEAWAY!! I convinced myself as long as it was veggie it would be fine but then eating it after 9 at night was asking for trouble. Queue a whole weekend wiped out, nothing achieved and letting down friends we were supposed to be spending the weekend with. So annoying and self inflicted.

One thing that I am proud of is that I didn't let it phase me in terms of my food for the rest of the weekend. Great result on the scales today 9st 2.5, well chuffed with that.

Last night's tea (to fit in with boyfriends 5:2 eating plan) was a delicious juiced up spinach, carrots, ginger, celery and cucumber. Will def be adding in lemon and wheatgrass next time.

Got a lovely pressie at work today of this:

Which made it easier to resist this amazing cake made by my daughter-in-law!

Well that soup was a HUGE hit - absolutely delicious and the natural yogurt and coriander raita made it completely perfect!

I was good the rest of the night too and just had water at the rehearsal which also rocked and I felt great and so much better than last week when I was very bloated and windy!!

Last night

Well supper was a quick and easy smoked salmon and salad affair, delicious and anti-inflammatory, just very expensive! I made a lovely soup which is mostly anti-inflammatory apart from the bits of chorizo in it (but then I did say I wasn't going to go overboard to start off with).
This is chorizo and parsnip soup with green lentils, onion and celery and I found it on the Waitrose website.

I finished off with some peppermint and nettle caffeine free tea and went to bed at 9.30pm. Woke for a bit then slept til 7. I only mention this as my sleep has been affected by the endo pain in recent nights.

Horse 2

I have just run out to the shops and bought a tub of pineapple chunks - to help with pain hopefully and a superfood drink which although not as great as making your own is definitely better than diet coke(!)

Back on the horse

Oooof - back on this with a bang. Really bad pains over past few days whilst I have had my period. Also irregular cells in last smear test.

Why did I ever stop? Well because my pains had gone away completely and I foolishly started slipping in bad things here and there. Right then no more of that and I am going to introduce the anti-inflammatory foods and weed out the inflammatory ones gradually.

Big ones to start

  • no alcohol - replace with superfood juice and fizzy water and green tea (no caffeine)
  • More tomatoes/sweet potatoes/berries
  • Home cooking
  • Juicing

Will also keep food diary in a spreadsheet to help monitor pains/IBS etc etc.

Welcome back!
